`CMYK Education: an educational programme for sound producers
This is an 8-week educational programme for sound producers during which you will discuss the structure of traditional music, its genres and regional features, and share experiences of combining authenticity with electronics.
How can Ukrainian tradition be brought into the electronic music environment and create a non-trivial sound at the intersection of genres? This question will be explored during the course. Participation is free.
CMYK implements the project in cooperation with the Goethe-Institut Ukraine. This is a project that combines Ukrainian traditional and electronic experimental music. CMYK creates raves, concerts, and collaborations at the intersection of various art forms, as well as an educational course and a label.
- Understanding the specifics of Ukrainian traditional music and experience working with the musicians who perform it
- Knowledge of the structure and skills of working in the ‘drone’ and ‘glitch’ directions
- Recordings of musical instruments accumulated during the course
- The opportunity to release a track written during the course in a compilation on the CMYK label
- The opportunity to present the revised material within the framework of the series of string and bow raves 'CMYK
- Vitalii Symonenko, a multi-instrumentalist and sound producer with over 10 years of experience on stage
- Mariia Hrynchuk, a folklorist, leader and first violinist in the band “DvaTry”
Complete the online form and take the test by 24 November.
Participants will be selected based on the test results.
The programme will start in December.
