Online course for doctors and nurses “Modern care of newborns”

This course will introduce you to the innovation in caring for newborns and premature babies in perinatal centres, neonatology departments, as well as anesthesiology and intensive care units. Eight health care professionals from the EU will share the effective solutions they adopt at work and tell more about the modern care of newborns at their hospitals.

For the completion of the course, you will receive a certificate acknowledged by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. Carefully listen to the lectures and pass all the tests to receive a diploma.

This online course substitutes the study tour for health professionals. Considering the quarantine we had to postpone travels abroad, but we will return to the live format as soon as the pandemic is under control.

  • Lecture 1. Prevention of catheter-associated infections in newborns
  • Lecture 2. Parenteral feeding and preparation of parenteral solutions
  • Lecture 3. Care of the newborn during medical hypothermia
  • Lecture 4. The positioning of a newborn in an intensive care unit
  • Lecture 5. Alternative feeding — donor milk
  • Lecture 6. Skincare for immature newborns
  • Lecture 7. Vascular approaches, their indications, complications, and prevention of complications
  • Lecture 8. Prevention of pain and stress in newborns
  • Lecture 9. Control and preventions of influence of newborns
  • Lecture 10. Principles of organization of work of the nurse: definition of the workload of the nurse in the department and the organization of work, performance of work shift and the schedule, criteria of employment in the department
  • A live session with lecturers for your questions and clarifications.
Can I apply?

We welcome doctors and nurses working in neonatology departments, as well as anesthesiology and intensive care units.

What do I need to apply?
  • A CV including information on your professional experience, education, internships, as well as scholarships and grants you previously won
  • Your consent to share feedback on the online course and give a presentation on what you have learned for your colleagues

Good to know
  • We will communicate the results of the assessment through an email sent not earlier than 5 September 2020.
  • Everyone who meets the technical criteria can participate in the online course. The application must be submitted on time, it must include answers to all questions on the application form and the mandatory attachments.
  • You can submit only one application within one call.
  • If unsuccessful, you can apply again at the next call.
