Milena Jesenská Fellowship for Journalists
This is an opportunity to spend three months in Vienna working on your book, article, or programme. The Institute for Humanities Sciences in Vienna will provide the scholarship, a comfortable workspace, and access to all facilities.
The scholarship is provided by the Institute for Human Sciences in partnership with ERSTE Foundation. This is one of thousands of EU opportunities for Ukraine.
- A monthly stipend of EUR 3,300.
- The opportunity to devote three months to work on your book, article, film, podcast, TV or radio show between September 2026 and June 2027.
- A comfortable workspace and access to all the Institute's facilities.
This scholarship is for you if you:
- Have been working in media for more than two years: on television, radio, or in a print or online publication.
- Have an outstanding professional portfolio.
- Completed application form
- CV including a list of publications
- Project description — up to 550 characters
- Project proposal: objectives, state of the art, methods and work plan in up to 7,500 characters
- Cover letter with information on how your stay at the university will benefit the concrete goals of your research
- Two recommendation letters. At least one should be from an editor, fellow journalist, or publisher
Complete all the documents in English, combine them into a single PDF and name it in Latin.
By 16 January, apply via IWM's online portal.

- In this competition, "cultural" has a broad meaning and covers a wide spectrum of intellectual and artistic spheres.
